Roku Splash Screen
As the Vudu UI redesign approaches its release on Roku, I took on the challenge of infusing vitality into the Vudu logo with a captivating splash screen. Involving meticulous research into existing splash screens within the streaming realm, adhering to Roku's specific guidelines, producing multiple iterations, all designed to fit within a concise five-second timeframe. Successfully meeting our strict deadline for this project, The final result is a dynamic animation that centers and maintains brand focus with simple but engaging motion elements.

Situation: While working on the Creative Services team of five under Fandango/Vudu, the Product team had been working to release a redesign of the Vudu streaming app on Roku. With the release deadline approaching within the week, they wanted to elevate this release with a final touch. Product, not having the bandwidth or much know-how in motion graphics, came to our team and asked us to create an animated splash screen or animated logo reveal placement that displays as a click into the Vudu/Fandango streaming platform on Roku.

Task: Create a five-second animated splash screen for the Vudu/Fandango app on Roku. Ensure brand consistency, optimize visual flow and hierarchy, and enable quick load times. Splash screen needed to captivate users immediately upon entry and provide a seamless transition into the app.
Analyzing competitors’ splash screens to identify industry trends and best practices. Exploring animated logos for creative direction and design inspiration.
Action: Conduct thorough research on existing splash screens across Roku and other streaming platforms. Focusing on identifying key elements that elevate visual flow, hierarchy, and legibility. Created multiple iterations aligning with Roku's guidelines and the Vudu brand identity. Collaborated closely with the creative and product marketing team to refine animations and ensure the final product was engaging and technically sound.
